Background:
Opened as a secondary modern in 1963; became a comprehensive in 1972, when two practical subject wings were built. Situated in the rural north-west of Hertfordshire, the school takes pupils from a wide catchment area. A range of up-to-date facilities include a multimedia workshop, drama studio, three science laboratories, ICT suite and a sports hall. Offers music tuition in most instruments, plus singing tuition. School musical productions include Scrooge and Oliver. Aims to challenge pupils and encourage individual development: 'Positive attitudes to work and caring values are fostered in a well-ordered and friendly atmosphere.A belief that everyone can achieve'.
