Background:
Fairfield High School is situated in heart of Golden Valley, close to Black Mountains on edge of village of Peterchurch, 12 miles west of Hereford and nine miles from Hay-on-Wye. Its main building was originally Victorian gentleman's residence and it sets in fine gardens. The school has a new sports hall and playing fields and building programme planned. Most pupils go on to Hereford Sixth-Form College. The school has achieved Sportsmark in 2003. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered in the school including: football, netball, tennis, rugby, cross-country and choir. There are a variety of opportunities offered to enhance the learning of pupils. The school aims to provide a happy, safe and stimulated environment in which each individual develop their academic potential.
