Background:

Founded in 1964, Broadlands Primary School is housed in two single-storey buildings and two mobile classrooms. The school possesses two gymnasia, an ICT suite and a library stocking fiction, non-fiction, CDs, videos, story-tapes and story sacks. The school holds a Sport England Activemark Gold Award, Arts Council of England Artsmark Silver Award, an Eco Schools Silver Award, a DfES school achievement award and a Football Association Charter mark.Seasonal extra-curricular activities include football, netball, rugby, badminton, swimming, rounders, tennis, gardening, cricket, cycling, art, craft, orchestra, choir, various musical instruments and maths. Links have been established with community groups. Pupils are also involved in raising funds for nominated charities, with over £1,500 being raised during 2002/03.
