Background:
Lord Scudamore Schools were opened in 1852 with money left in trust in 1680 by Sir John Scudamore, Viscount Sligo. Over the years, four separate schools the nursery, the infant school, the boys' school and the girls' school were, in 1973, combined to make one county primary school. Its curriculum and extra-curricular activities give the children the chance to improve and refine their ability in Dance, Gymnastics, Games, Athletics, Swimming and Outdoor and Adventurous Education, Street dance, Brazilian Soccer, Maypole Dancing, Tag Rugby, Soccer, Gymnastics, Netball, Rounders and Cricket. The school aims to provide opportunity to its pupils to develop their own full potential.
